Social Emotional Learning and Literacy

STARS Class

This is a STARS (State Training and Registry System) class for teachers who work with young children, ages birth to six.

The social and emotional skills practiced in early childhood, such as recognizing feelings, listening in small and large group settings, and getting along with others, are strong predictors of children's readiness to learn when they enter Kindergarten.  The goal of this workshop is to share simple books, resources, and activities with attendees to give more ideas for encouraging children's social/emotional development.  There will be time also to share ideas with each other!
