STEAM for Kids with the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge

Join a naturalist from the Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge to get hands-on with real and model pelts, bones, and feathers and learn about how local animals adapt to survive.

Come learn about the amazing animal adaptations of the wildlife native to the Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge (BFJNNWR). Join a naturalist to explore preserved specimens of local mammal and avian species as we learn how to ask questions like a wildlife scientist. At the conclusion of the lesson, attendees can take home a scavenger hunt to take with them on their next visit to the Wildlife Refuge to try and spot the animals they learned about in the lesson. While primarily crafted for kids ages 6-13, all ages are welcome.
