A Virtual Interactive STEAM Program for Kids

Virtual Room 2A time for kids ages 5-10 to get together on Zoom to create STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) masterpieces and play games. Parents and caregivers welcome!
March 01: Decorated Paper Crowns! - Makes some paper links and weave them together to make a crown, then decorate it with a unicorn horn or other signature part.
March 08: Milk Plastic! - Make and mold plastic from the milk in your refrigerator and some vinegar.
March 15: The Word Game Day! - Play word games with others. Can you guess the right answer before others do?
March 22: Scratchboards and Trivialities! - Make scratchable art pieces and test your knowledge on different subjects.
March 29: Paper Plate Nature Weaving! - Using a paper plate as a loom, create woven masterpieces with things from nature.
Supplies for each program, if needed, will be noted in the communications sent with the joining links to the program, and should be materials that are easily obtained or that are already present in a participant's household.
Note for caregivers - Registering your child for this event gives them permission to participate in the library's virtual event hosted on Zoom, an online platform. The event will be monitored by library staff. We encourage caregivers to join in with your child and ask that an adult stay with children under 5.
How do Zoom programs work?
- Register for the program. Take care entering your email address properly.
- You will immediately receive an email including the Zoom link from donotreply@mylocallibrary.info. If you do not receive this link within an hour, contact us at VirtualPCLS@pcls.us
- When the Zoom program is scheduled to begin, log in and enjoy the program. If you have any problems logging in, contact us at VirtualPCLS@pcls.us

- The Pierce County Library recommends using the latest version of Zoom, with all current updates. Check for the latest version by following this Zoom support article.
- The Library System expects that all participants in Library virtual events and classes follow the Library Rules of Conduct. If an individual does not follow the Rules of Conduct, the library has the right to ask that individual to leave the virtual program.
