Join Stephanie Earls, Librarian for the Washington Geological Survey, as she presents on how to learn about local geologic data, understand local geologic hazards, and learn about local rockhounding.
Stephanie Earls, Librarian for the Washington Geological Survey, will give a presentation on how to use the online Geologic Information Portal (https://www.dnr.wa.gov/geologyportal). This tool puts loads of interesting geologic data, into the hands of the public in a visual easy to use format! It will allow you to better understand what geologic factors influence an area (e.g. geologic hazards). She will also talk about recreational rockhounding in Washington. A few rock samples will be on hand for viewing. Come see the talk if you want to know more about where you live and play!
