Drop-in STEAM play with LEGOS, blocks and more!
Block play is STEAM (science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics) learning! In this drop-in open play session, we'll provide a couple of giant tubs of LEGO, Duplo-sized blocks for little hands, wooden unit blocks and a marble run set. You bring your imagination!
Blocks provide opportunities for children’s social and emotional development as they build and share with others, and manage the frustration that comes when structures collapse. The characteristics of grit and perseverance are displayed and developed for both children and adults participating in active block play. In addition, children are challenged cognitively as they solve the problems that arise in the construction process.
But most importantly, it's fun for the whole family!
This program is independent play and adults need to stay in the room with their children.
